Description

We’d like to introduce the BMW 635CSi.

The E24-series two-door coupe, introduced in 1976, is a four-seat personal coupe that was hailed at the time as the world’s most beautiful coupe. Its magnificent design is the work of the French genius Paul B. Lac, who was responsible for Mercedes-Benz’s design from the 1960s through the 1970s.Even after more than 40 years, its stylish design has lost none of its luster. Incorporating subtle curves within its linear lines, its well-balanced and unique silhouette represents the pinnacle of post-war BMW styling.

This two-door grand tourer coupe, known as the 6 Series, was produced for an astonishing 13 years, and by the time production ended in 1989, approximately 86,000 units had been sold to celebrities around the world. For the first year, the body was manufactured by Karmann, but thereafter, full-scale mass production began at BMW’s factories. With a length of 4,800 mm and a width of 1,725 mm, it had a relatively large body for its time and was equipped with BMW’s signature OHC inline-six engine at the front. The engine displacement gradually increased from 2.8L to 3.0L and then to 3.5L; all were smooth and powerful engines that served as the perfect power units for this model.

This vehicle is a 1987 model 635Csi equipped with a 3.5L engine, which was the most popular trim level at the time.It produces 185 horsepower using Bosch Motronic fuel injection and is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission and power steering. As an officially imported vehicle, its power output is about 10 percent lower than that of European-spec models; however, it still offers more than enough power and torque for today’s driving needs, making it a very easy-to-handle engine. Its smooth revving characteristics offer an unparalleled feel, and even today, it provides a truly enjoyable driving experience. The suspension features independent suspension on all four wheels, with front struts and rear semi-trailing arms, delivering both excellent ride comfort and road-holding ability.

The interior is spacious with excellent visibility and ample headroom, so there’s none of the claustrophobic feeling often associated with two-door coupes. The seats are comfortable and the driving position is good, making it a first-class GT car capable of handling long-distance drives with ease. This particular vehicle is in such excellent condition that it’s hard to believe it’s been nearly 40 years since it rolled off the production line; it retains its original condition remarkably well. The air conditioning works effectively, and all switches and controls operate normally. We hope to continue maintaining it with the same care it has received so far.

This vehicle was imported new from BMW Japan in Showa 62 and is the very first model of the 635CSi.It also features the understated beauty of the early, original design, complete with subtle aero parts. In recent years, it has become a neo-classic model for which it is increasingly difficult to find examples in such excellent condition.

This is definitely a car you’ll want to see in person.
